Using search engines can be tricky, so I looked up grindhouse short films and found this gem. Slick, stylish and funny.

Treevenge

The resolution is not great on this. It's not high definition. But it makes up for it as a richly layered comedy, tediously slow and funny in the beginning, but when it starts it doesn't stop and doesn't let up. Might be a couple of squeamish shots too. Enjoy.

Hobo With a Shotgun began as a trailer in Grindhouse (2007) and was eventually made into a movie (2011). The original trailer is below. Not quite what we're looking for, so if you know of a trailer created to raise money for a feature by a non-established director let us know.
